Edipsos Springs Thermal Water

The spring water is recommended for musculoskeletal disorders, nervous system diseases, gynecological conditions, endocrine disorders, skin conditions, and vascular diseases.

The temperature of the therapeutic water from the Edipsos springs ranges from 70 to 80 degrees Celsius.
The natural healing resource of the baths comes from four springs.

INGREDIENTS

The natural resource “Artemis” of the Municipality of Istiaia-Edipsos, in the region of Evia, has a temperature of 79°C, electrical conductivity (average): 46,000 μS/cm, active acidity (pH) (average): 6.05, radioactive elements Radon (Rn) (average): 1.8 Bq/L, Radium (Ra) (average): 3.62 Bq/L, Uranium (U): <5 μg/L.

Chemical elements include: Chlorine (Cl-), Sodium (Na+), Calcium (Ca2+), Potassium (K+), Bromine (Br), Silicon dioxide (SiO2), Strontium (Sr2+), Fluoride (F), Lithium (Li+).

Gases: Carbon dioxide (CO2) and Hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The flow rate is 16 cubic meters per hour (16 m³/h).

The natural resource is classified as: mineral, hyperthermal, mildly sulfurous, moderately carbonated, highly chlorinated-sodium-rich, hypertonic, very hard, containing Ca2+, K+, Br, SiO2, Sr2+, F, Li+, and a therapeutic salt spring.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS

Rheumatic conditions, rehabilitation of chronic rheumatism, arthritis, sciatica, lower back pain, rehabilitation of chronic rheumatic diseases for residual pain and stiffness from surgeries and post-traumatic conditions, extra-articular and periarticular rheumatic disorders, and peripheral nerve conditions.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Heart diseases, lower limb edema, coronary artery disease, cerebral hemorrhages or vascular thrombosis, malignant neoplasms, severe neurological and psychiatric disorders, kidney failure, active tuberculosis, febrile conditions, skin diseases such as pyodermatitis, fungal infections, spongy mycosis, and pregnancy after the sixth month.
